It can withstand stress without cracking or breaking, it’s UV-resistant, water-resistant, it is soft and can bounce back from compression, it’s closed-cell and cross-linked, it’s non-marring, and impact-absorbing. The backside of the bumper part is also designed to go over / around the license plate and protect the vehicle’s paint. The novelty plate bubble shield is an unbreakable polycarbonate with a UV resistant stabilizer to prevent discoloration.
